Thirty-five flood-affected families in Gobargadha, Hanumannagar Kankalini municipality-13 in Saptari, are still waiting for relief since the last four days.
The village was inundated when the Saptakoshi river overflowed and entered the locality due to heavy rains. According to Sita Ram Yadav, who suffered from the floods, the water in the village remains up to three feet deep, making it difficult for locals to stay in their houses and cook their meals.” What food supplies we have left have been depleted. Now we are all wondering how we are going to survive without food,” he lamented.
Chief District Officer Jaya Narayan Acharya said that people affected by the floods will soon be helped as efforts will be coordinated with local levels.
